BloodLink Portal

About This Project

Academic initiative for blood donation management

🎓 College Project

BloodLink Portal is a college project developed to demonstrate a modern blood donation management system. Built with Firebase for real-time data management and authentication, this platform showcases how technology can streamline the coordination between blood donors and those in need.

This project implements key concepts including user authentication, role-based access control (admin vs. donor), real-time database synchronization, and responsive web design. It serves as a practical example of full-stack web development using modern tools and frameworks.

Eligibility Criteria

Age: 18-60 years old, healthy with no recent major illness. Minimum weight 50kg. Keep your profile updated with current weight, height, and medical conditions for accurate screening.

How It Works

Create your account, complete your detailed profile with blood group and health info, then toggle "active" for 7 days when you're ready to donate. Admins can instantly see your availability.

Privacy & Safety

Admins see only donor profiles; each donor controls their own data. All information is encrypted and stored securely in Firebase with strict access rules.

Active Status

When you're ready to donate, mark yourself active for 7 days. This helps coordinators find available donors quickly during emergencies.

Health Tracking

Record any health conditions, allergies, or medications. This ensures safe donations and helps medical staff prepare properly.

Community Impact

Every donor profile makes the system more effective. Your willingness to donate can save lives during critical shortages.
